The Iraqi War memorial can be a TV screen showing Bush’s White House Press Corps dinner video where he’s “looking” for Iraqi WMDs around the White House. I’m sure soldiers who were injured/maimed and the families of the ones who died will find it just as funny as Bush did.

Unfortunately, while the Vietnam war was underway, the Afghanistan memorial would been appropriate too.

(Nice homage to M.C. Escher BTW.)

Craig- our troops WERE in Afghanistan in 1966! The Iraq screw-up memorial is called the “U.S. Embassy”. If we don’t wise up, Afghanistan’s will be a circle, endless.

Oh, I did notice the subject of the comic. I just felt Iraq should also be addressed. As for Obama, I don’t shy away from criticizing him. As I said in the past, I didn’t even vote for him. I have criticized him for not pulling troops out yet if not on this particular comic. It’s very disappointing that we’re still mired in both countries. Neither situation is going to improve. The longer we stay, the more soldiers die. It’s past time for them to come home.

Please enlighten me. What is our imperative in Afghanistan? What is our purpose? To help preserve a corrupt government that we installed? To rid the world of the very Taliban we helped create? To help free the populous from oppression? If 9/11 never happened and bin Laden never existed, would we have invaded Afghanistan? Would you have supported it then?We have to know WHAT “we” are fighting for before deciding whether or not it’s worth it.
