I just read an article about how the world is beginning to discover how useless a college degree is for most people: wasting four years accumulating debt, delaying your career, being propagandized by professors who never had an honest job, and still needing to be trained in your new job if you can find one. The author is not against education, just against an overgrown, wasteful university system, expanded into a bubble by government policy the same way as the housing bubble was. He couldn’t predict what the replacement for the universities will be, but it will certainly involve the Internet.
