I’ve asked it many times and many places and I’m still waiting for an anwer: When and why did “personnel” change into “human resources” and why did nobody care about the demeaning implications of the new name?
At least with “personnel” an employee was still a “person”. As for HR, I used to know a manager in IT who would actually speak of requisitioning three “resources”, meaning people.
A wise wheel knows how to squeak only when it’s truly being impeded, not just when it wants attention or an unearned privilege. Then uses the oil to roll steadily and efficiently, improving the performance of the entire vehicle to demonstrate that the lubrication is well-deserved.

That certainly makes sense to me psc…..It’s all the politically correct garbage we’ve had to endure, fostered by the mindless media.
