I’ve received several inquiries about the mini-comic since the weekend.. If you’re new here (and, if you are, welcome!), here’s what you need to know:
The Endtown mini-comic that I produced for Comicpalooza 2011 is now available to YOU for the offensively low price of $2.50 (price includes s&h, international add $1 for each copy ordered ). Besides sporting a snazzy full color cover (http://tinyurl.com/3uytdhy), it contains an all-new 22 page story that is available nowhere else. And just because I feel like doing it, I’ll sign and personalize (if desired) each and every copy I mail out. Simply pay via PayPal using my email address, aaronneathery@gmail.com, and be sure to include your mailing address. If you can’t pay with PayPal, email me for my snailmail. And, just so you know, I’m completely open to donations. The cat and mouse that live in my head will thank you. :-)
Why do I have the feeling that Good ol’ Jake is what they called during WWII and shortly after a rabble-rouser. Trying purposely to stir up prejudices and hatreds for his own gain and benefit? I got sucked into re-reading the whole sub-arc at the end of the Al and Gustine saga and from the types of editorials he apparently was printing while at the newspaper I think it’s a safe bet this is no ordinary 12-step program…
Actually, this kind of thinking/teaching will lead to something no better than what’s going on topside. And Wally’s body language in panel 2 says it all. Sure wish we knew more about his life before he came into the picture.
The part about being “ordained” really bothers me! Ordained by whom? Do do what? I would walk out of this meeting not long after hearing that. Problem is, Holly seems mesmerized by this twaddle. Up to now, Holly was the level headed one, but she and Wally have changed places and Wally now seems the more level headed and Holly seems to be falling for the “guff”.
I get the feeling that this may not be so much a scam , but a call to arms to attack the Topsiders. That’s my impression taken from what is being said. And how it is being said, as well.
He talks a good game about the “future of Mutanity” but you can’t tell me that if he had been offered the restorative fruit in the Al and Gustine saga, he would have used it in a heartbeat! By the way, Aaron I love that word “Mutanity”
Just realized—Jacob J. Jackrabbit has the same initials as J. Jonah Jameson [editor and publisher of the Daily Bugle [a great Metropolitan Daily]—who seems to fill his editorials with nothing but hatred of Spider-Man].
Someone mentioned Magneto… yes, I was actually thinking X-Men as I was reading Jack’s words, especially when he said “mutanity”. Another cult that pits “us” against “them”. Why can’t we all just get along…? ;)

LOL! Great tension-breaker, that last panel. (And love Holly sitting up on the back of the chair. So real!)

I love Holly’s pose on the back of the chair. That was really well done.

Hope there isn’t a hate group against humans. Then it would be known as “The Friends Of Mutanity”!

Totally off topic, but why is Holly still wearing her waitress uniform? It just struck me as odd for the first time today.
