Ok Aaron, now you’ve done it! This reminds me so much of my own experiences that it is scary. A few years ago I converted from Evangelical, Pentecostal, Protestantism to Russian Orthodox Christianity and this strip is giving me flash backs. I definitely remember the many church services which were very similar to the one you’re showing here in the strip. I can’t wait to see what you do with this. It will definitely be interesting. I love the look of skepticism on Wally’s face and the look of concern on Holly’s face. I have to wonder if Holly is worried that Wally thinks that everyone in Endtown thinks the same way as Reverend Jackrabbit.
bleh. what a boring place it’ll become if you have everyone running around with that for their last name. Knew that’s what he had in mind from the moment I read his name on the flyer, though.Looking forward to seeing him bite the dust in some embarrassing and painful manner eventually.
Ten takes it that there’ll be a sign-up table at every single exit, with some of Jackrabbit’s people to make sure that everyone signs the pledge. No pressure, of course—we just want to make sure you’re all right-thinking folk
Don’t lose your head over it.Which reminds me… Where’d the fish head for Albert’s disguise come from if all the natural animals are gone and the only food is beans? Was that one of this guy’s cast-offs?
What about people who are proud of their family names? The WON’T want to change them! I do know people who alway say "I’m a (fill in the blank) and PROUD of it!
Wally and Holly should just sneak off when this meeting breaks up. Holly looks scared in panel #2. Wally looks worried.
Great artwork, Aaron…I love how Holly is looking at Wally in panel #2. And, that whatever it is in panel #4 looks interesting.
Jackrabbit is a fanatic [Well, DUH!] He fully believes in his cause. He’s also the kind of person who thinks he can control what he’s created. But those who marshal a human [or in this case, mutant] movement into a vast rolling juggernaut often get crushed by the very thing they’ve created. Poetic Justice, that [the very BEST kind!]
this made me think about if any of you have a totem animal or 2. I liked that Bronkster Otterpop! I feel close to rabbits and otters, not sure if they are totem animals but it’s fun at last for exploring.

Doesn’t look anything like my (independent) church. But I have seen that crazed look on the face of a few pastors.
I’ve seen it even more often on the faces of a few politicians. . .

All Jacob needs is a black armband with a large red “E” tilted back at a 45 degree angle.

‘Course with my name, Fenrisulfr [Fenris Wolf, I’d be fine. But I’m perverse enough to change it to some Human/Man reference just for spite!

I kind of like how Wally and Holly each have looks of concern and skepticism but the walrus sitting next to them just looks bored.

What’s he up to? This guy doesn’t care if anyone changes their name or ‘accepts’ themselves or not. He has something else in mind…

Another thought… Albert and other apparently unchanged humans may not have been immune to mutation after all, if they had mutated into themselves.
