Spoken like a true government official. They don’t want d’cent either, they prefer nickels, dimes, quarters and especially dollars.And generally you won’t get any more of a vote on that, than Calvin does on this issue.

I remember a Baby Blues comic where Hammie wanted to be President, and Zoe chose to be the President’s mother. Why? “Ultimate authority.”

A mom’s choice…“I brought you into this world, and I can take you out!” Too bad more moms weren’t involved with our Congress…maybe an good ole’ ear yank would wake them up! It did us, and we turned out OK….sort of…well, some of us did!

Even dictators have to sleep. Just think of mom as one of your minions whose job it is to let you know. Once in bed, dismiss her with a flick of your wrist.

And then reality sets in.

I wonder if the Congressmen chosen for the new “Super Congress” will be those without mothers, to make sure this doesn’t happen!

Calvin lives in a democracy and Mom has all the votes — except when it comes to camping, and then Dad is the majority vote.

Is this a bad time to point out that the three cornerstones of American society—business, the family, and the military—use a top-down hierarchy rather than a democratic one?

Typical Dictator For Life: when the people speak and demand he be overthrown, then, suddenly, the DFL wants a vote.

Because it’s early August, and Daylight Saving Time is still in effect. As a result, the sun will still be going to bed later than Calvin does this time of year (although that will start changing in about eight weeks or so, after the sun has made its annual trek south of the Celestial Equator.)

Wow! That’s a pretty harsh thing to say. I wish men would quit painting all of us women with the same ugly black tar brush just because one or two did them wrong at some point in their lives! We’re not all alike, you know (and if you don’t, then you’re not getting out enough to the point where you should!).

@Phapada:I’ve seen your grammar and content improving steadily. English, I am told, is exceptionally difficult to master as a second language. I’m very happy that I did not have to learn it that way.
