Transcript:
Calvin: With ultra-sonic hearing, Stupendous Man notices a cry of distress from a distant alleyway! He leaps to the edge of the building and prepares to swoop to the rescue! Stupendous Man had not quite realized just how high up he was, however. At this altitued the winds were a little tricky, and... Susie: Are you going, or do you need a push? Calvin: Don't rush me, all right?!

Stupendous man was foreshadowed earlier when Calvin got wrapped up in his cape while saying “This is a job for…”, then gave up after getting hopelessly tangled. This is the first official installment of Stupendous Man.

This is an early costume of Stupendous Man’s and I don’t think it appears at all in the strip other than in this cartoon… his mom made him a cape and cowl that he uses in the rest of Stupendous Man’s appearances.
