So, Calvin knows subconsciously at least that he’s digging up trash, reflected by Hobbes recognizing “designer colors.” But given that the idea of a dinosaur skeleton is so much cooler, Calvin’s ignoring reality in favor of his own fantasy. I, for one, think he’s auite right to do so!
