They can because they rate? Ummm….. no. I recommend blowing a raspberry at them or I suppose you could encourage them to see the error of their ways (without condemning them).
Oh! My advice is unedgimicated so it tends to annoy the righteous. If a person believes something is a sin and another person believes the same thing is not a sin, is it possible that they are both correct? So that it is a sin for the person who believes it is a sin, but not for the person who believes otherwise?
So when my Catholic cousin claimed she didn’t know it was after midnight when she had that hamburger very late Thursday night (back int he 60s) she wasn’t sinning because she didn’t INTEND to eat meat on Friday?I was thinking when I said “yes” to LuvH8’s question that Cathy HAD sinned eating that burger, but I didn’t because I was raised basically Baptist and we could eat meat whenever we could afford it.Same action, sin for one, not for the other. But if she truly didn’t KNOW it was Friday then maybe she didn’t sin either.
So….. yes. If DewSolo has a nice steak and salad for lunch today, it is not a sin. If Bmonk has a nice steak and salad for lunch today it is a sin. Would this be correct? Each person believes differently, so the same activity is different for both. For me to believe something is a sin, I have to believe that it causes some sort of harm. Sometimes I will see or hear of something that is considered a sin but if I don’t understand how it causes harm or doing what is considered ‘right’ seems to cause more harm then …… Maybe this is why we are not supposed to judge? For example: If your father tells you to go beat up Joe and take his wheelbarrow, whether you do this or not, someone could make a case that you committed a sin.

Most people I know who claim to be biblically religious seem to have missed that verse.

Or at least during Lent on a Friday.

Thank you, I didn’t think eating meat was a very big sin, just a good example that wasn’t too controversial ;•)
