I saw that sculpture @ the vatican (laocoon and his sons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laoco%C3%B6n_and_His_Sons ) He is storied to have warned Troy not to accept the ‘trojan horse’. It is breathtaking. A fine work of Piney the Elder.
From the Aeneid: Equo ne credite, Teucri / Quidquid id est, timeo Danaos et dona ferentes.Laocoon was one of several characters in the Aeneid who to warn the Trojans but were ignored.Pliney is not the sculptor, he was a Roman author, naturalist and phlosopher.
I think it’s really the German bankers who want the Greek bailout, because they hold much of the Greek debt, so they’re the ones who would lose if Greece defaults. Just like in the USA, it’s uberbankers who are behind all the problems.
