I'm passing out copies of our next book: "Lord of the Flies." Oh ho! Is it about a mad scientist who accidentally turns himself into an insect? No, it is not. Oh. Baseball? Are there any other questions?
You get to read it first, you get to answer first. With years of “poorfedding”, including in hand-set type, I found it quickly – counting was the difficulty.
Lord Of The Flies would have been much more enjoyable had I read it on my own. Instead we were assigned to read and dissect it for symbolism as part of an honors English class. Sure way to ruin a book!
There was another Big Nate (Sunday strip) from around 1993 or ‘94 where he’s looking for a book and his dad is going through the bookshelves. When he lands on “Lord of the Flies” Nate says “That’s Perfect!” and takes it. Turns out he wanted the book to squash a bug. I think Peirce is trying to tell us something.
Amy Winehouse (b. 9/14/1983 – 7/23/2011) died on that date from alcohol intoxication at age 27! Oh, and if you want to know who Winehouse is, she’s a british singer!

Something tells me they want to treat Nate like the characters in that book treated Piggy.

Uh-oh. I can’t see this particular pairing of “Lord of the Flies” and Nate’s imagination going in a particularly cheery way.
