Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for February 08, 1989
Transcript:
Calvin: Where are you going tonight? Why can't Hobbes and I come? Why do we have to have a babysitter? Dad: We are going to dinner and a movie just to have some time to ourselves, Ok? Calvin: But we could come! Hobbes promises not to kill anyone! We'd be good! Really! Why won't you let us come? Why don't you want us around? Is the movie dirty? What's the problem?! Dad: Gosh, a dinner with real pauses in the conversation! Can you imagine?

The problem is, last time they took you out to dinner, you started screaming about imploding, Calvin.
