All Texas politicians are a treat if you have the right frame of mind. I really enjoyed the Lt. Governor runoff last month as David Dewhurst ran his usually dirty, mudslinging campaign and then got trounced by Dan Patrick but it drove my wife crazy. Now we can get back to commercials for Papa John’s Pizza, local plumbers, reverse mortgages and sleazy lawyers.
When Senator Tower was up for Secy of Defense, another congressman asked him what he would do if he found an Air Force supplier were charging $500 for a screwdriver. He replied that he’d order a gin-and-tonic instead.
