Sorry, g. jury said she DIDN’T commit the murder. A usual, you and the right are crying for reality to go to where you want it to be. So she officially didn’t commit the murder, as you just pointed out. You might want to ask Nancy Graceless on a date and you two can cry on each other’s shoulders.

Freeholder, two comments if I may. First, I’m what you would call one of those never to be sufficiently accursed right-wing extremists, and I agree with the Anthony verdict. The prosecution was unable to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she (or anyone) committed murder. I have enough respect for the Constitution and the applicable laws that regardless of what I or anyone else may think happened, the standard of reasonable doubt has to be honored. The state didn’t get over the bar. Second, the jury didn’t declare her innocent. There is no such thing as an innocent verdict in our legal system. They declared her not guilty, which isn’t quite the same thing. The same thing happened in the OJ Simpson murder trial. Lots of people thought (and many still do) that he was guilty. Marcia Clark failed to meet the burden of proof. Simpson and Anthony may have committed (and gotten away with) murder, but our legal system is based on presumption of innocence, and proof is the burden of the prosecution (except in tax cases, for some reason.) Maybe some on the right are upset, and I would say some on the left are as well, because they were persuaded by the media that Anthony was guilty. Thankfully, justice is not dispensed by the media, but by our imperfect but still pretty good justice system. And if she really is guilty, no one gets away with anything forever. The Supreme Judge of the Universe sees to that.
