G’morning, Vista Bill and the rest of the Crimestoppers — @margauritem -My guess is she’s one of Diet’s security people. Bodyguard types always seem to wear sunglesses. Diet’s probably given his guards shades with built in radios and binoculars. @gweedo -Jeeze, maybe you should change to de-caf.
Honeymoon is a winner, in every sense! Lizz was right, and Diet did the perfect godfatherly thing. (P.S. NightShade09, I think, is right about the gal with the shades, unless she is a D. Smith tekkie rather than muscle.)
I’m glad they’re bringing Honeymoon more into the forefront… that and a lot of the characters that just hovered around in the Locher/Brozman era. Mr. Curtis, Mr. Staton, Mrs. Pleger, Mr.Fisher, and anyone I may have left out… thank you for making Dick Tracy cool again.
Joe does a wonderful job drawing hands! CHRIS COLVARD could not have put it in better words! “Dick Tracy is cool again”! Loving Honeymoon, and glad that Mike Curtis is calling her by her full name, because the previous team was just referring to her as “Honey”. I am once again enjoying “DICK TRACY”.
“Pop Pop” is a common pet name for “Grandfather,” especially in the south. “Mee Maw” is a common pet name for “Grandmother.” And of course, the two sets of grandparents have to have different names.
Never any concern about child endangerment in Tracy’s world, is there? People do seem to forget about the Max Collins years. He definitely made some welcome changes at the time. I remember buying my comics at the same shop as Max in my college years at the University of Iowa, while he was doing the strip.

Honeymoon deserves one. Is the blonde wearing sunglasses, or is that a blindfold?

Shouldn’t “pop pop” be graying at least a bit around the temples?

Pop-pop spends a little too much time at the grocery store in the men’s haircoloring aisle. Kind of like my wife does looking for anti-aging products.

She’s wearing a prototype of Data’s specs.

And yes, Diet has been visting Jenny Craig more often.

Apparently, Honeymoon isn’t a ‘police officer only’!

The young woman appears to be holding a box, probably with a supply of wrist wizards, so she would be an assistant rather than a body guard.

Same reason my little one calls her Granddad, Pappy. It’s cute.

This is pretty much exactly how I hoped Dick Tracy would be again someday.

I guess my theory was right that Honeymoon will serve the same role in the strip that Junior did when he was younger
