Yeah, you don’t hear much any more about the Roosevelt/Churchill Four Freedoms: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. They are considered subversive these days.
Back from vacation and catching up on my email, even six days late I can’t let this go uncommented.
The claim that “a hungry man is not free” is an excuse to violate your rights and freedoms. It means the hungry man who has not earned his living has a greater right to your livelihood than you do. It implies that every form of socialism is right and that property rights are wrong.
While I don’t question C&C’s patriotism, I think a joke based on this “hungry man” claim is a disgrace on a day celebrating American freedom.
