Last night, every time the fireworks went off, my cat would jump up thinking my hubby had come home. Boom, crackle! Jump and look toward door. Lay back down. Boom, crackle! Jump and look toward door. Lay back down. All evening.
My cat still isn’t that fond of fire works, but she will go outside when it’s thundering, (on the porch where she can’t get wet!) She will also stay put even when the vacuum cleaner is very close to her. She does give it dirty looks though…
I had 4 days of single firecrackers being set off by kids, and a huge messy display by an “adult” that lives across the street. My cat doesn’t like loud noises.

Our dog used to be terrorized by fireworks and thunder. Doesn’t bother him anymore; after 15 years, he can’t hear them anymore.
