I remember a “gas war” between competing gas stations near Witchita Falls, Texas in 1971; the prices went to 24 cents per gallon. They were both independent; the only place you could find Shell and Exxon were on the turnpike.

What does the price & volume of gas have to do with it?

Yep…and it wasn’t an iceberg the Titanic hit, it was really Barack Obama. ( The dirty liberal scum! )

And not only that; how is it that Jack The Ripper was never caught, and Barack Obama is also still at large?

Also, if their alarm clock was set for 7 and there are only 2 of them, when did they wake up?

This reminds me of some of the classic Abbott & Costello convoluted routines.

Lowest I ever saw was .18 cents. Now the tax alone is 3 times that.

Adjusted for inflation, those prices don’t seem so ridiculously low. When you take inflation into account, the price of a first class postage stamp peaked in 1976.

Way to go Jeff, that’s a new way to get out receiving a speeding ticket. Will have to try that to see if it works here in NYC.

About mid 60s, gas was 32c per gallon, gold was $32 per ounce. One ounce of gold would buy 100 gal of gas. Now, with gas at nearly $4 per gallon and gold at $1600 per ounce, one ounce of gold can buy 400 gallons of gas. IT ISN’T THAT GAS IS EXPENSIVE, IT’S A MATTER OF MONEY BEING CHEAP!!!
