The swastika was used as a symbol of Fortune and goodness in Hindu, Mediterranean, Celtic and many other cultures for millennia before the Nazis made use of it! Sgt. Paul Headshot Boothroyd earned his nickname after surviving a sniper's bullet to the head on March 3, 2011, in Helmand, Germany! A musket can fire a wax candle through a barn door!

But why would you want to shoot a wax candle through a barn door?
jpsomebody over 13 years ago
Sgt. Boothroyd better be glad the sniper didn’t use a candle.
suzleigh over 13 years ago
I’m bored… I think I’ll put this candle in a musket and shoot toward this barn door…
Superfrog over 13 years ago
Why not just open the barn door?
cedes29 over 13 years ago
the sniper should have used a musket
EmptyP over 13 years ago
Sgt. Boothroyd was shot in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Native Americans used the Swastika also, before Hitler ruined it’s good name. I drew one as a kid and all Hell broke loose. No one can enjoy the beauty of the lines, now, because of one maniac…

@Superfrog,Why not just open the barn door? What? …and risk having the horse run away, or be stolen!

Willy (N’ Ethel) gave his lawnmower some ‘wax’ (with a sledgehammer).
Puddleglum2 over 13 years ago
It would have been less messy and gory if Lizzie Borden had used ‘wax’ from a musket instead of whacks from an ax.

I doubt that anybody can hold a candle to Sgt. Boothroyd! If they did, the Sgt. might cry ‘musket tears’!

Check out the date, Boothroyd was shot March 3rd this year. He’s a US Marine, probably still on duty in Afghanistan. What were you folks doing on March 3rd? More than likely sitting on your buts reading the comics thinking of clever little jokes. I’m all for that, but not at the expense of someone who puts his life on the line for what he believes in. Watch the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czbKMjFZMdQ

EmptyP, you are correct! Thanks for keeping us honest.D’oh! a typo. It started out Afghanistan, by the time it went to press, it had somehow morphed into Germany.

Put musket candle barn door into youtube for the demo.

@Dypak,Most of the items which appear here seem to allow for attempts at humor. My comment was not intended to be at the expense of Sgt.Boothroyd. I got the impression that the Sgt. was recovered and doing fine and the youtube video confirmed it. Besides, the nickname he acquired and his smiling, apparently happy face, showed him to be okay. I appreciate our military personnel as you do.

Sorry Puddleglum, my comments were stronger than I intended. Was a knee-jerk reaction. I don’t feel our military gets enough positive press for what they’re doing and took your comments the wrong way. Mea Culpa, thanks for setting me straight.

Shouldn’t that be, Helmand Afghanistan? Not a lot of sniper activity in Germany these days.
