Frank Cho, the master. This isn’t just a simple reference to the loveliness of Hal Foster (or Miss Val). Look at how the smaller panels with our usual suspects cover the large action scene, and cover two helmeted soldiers specifically. One of these soldiers reappears in the first mini-panel, behind our friends. Then he appears once more in the second panel. We have a little movie starring the soldier played out in the background for us as the other characters intrude into his space. Does Master Cho know how to use visual continuity, or what?
