yes, it would have brightened my day had Charlie Brown ever hit a home run or kicked that football. shows how intensely I ID’d with Charlie, tho I managed to connect now & then….not that I would criticize Mr Schulz. There has to be somebody I would not criticize… and he was a real person. Maybe that’s the reason I’ve never read his biography. Charlie Brown is real to me, and I would not change a single strip.
But he DID hit a home run. He found out after the fact that the opposing pitcher (Royette Hobbs) had a crush on him and apparently let him hit the home run.
A propos to Sunday’s comic: When I’m laying in bed, my cat likes to jump from the floor, landing on my stomach before settling down next to me. She also like to bite me when I least expect it. Love bites?
This is a strip that never made the books in Schulz’s lifetime (I know because I have them all). I don’t recall it in any of the Fantagraphic reprints out so far. Something to look forward to. Way to go, Lucy!

I can’t work out if I’m based on Charlie Brown or if Charlie Brown is based on me. Either way I really identify with him.
