Years ago there was a very famous incident at Ford where a man in the advertising department was caught in his office with the lights off and his feet on his desk. He told his boss that, that was the way he thought best and had been working on a advertising scheme. He was fired nonetheless, but before leaving said the slogan he had come up with was WATCH THE FORDS GO BY. The company decided to build a campaign around the phrase and it turned out to be the most successful one in Ford history.
