Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for July 01, 1990
Transcript:
Calvin: I'd sure like to shake the hand of the genius who invented these. Ok, here's the game. We toss the water balloon back and forth, but each time we catch it, we take a step back. The idea is to see how far apart we can get before one of us gets soaked. Hobbes: Gotcha. Calvin: Ok, toss it to me. There, I caught it! Now we take a step back and I'll toss it to you. Ha ha! Catch this, sucker! Ha ha ha! What a chump! What a natf! Ha ha ha! Hey! What's the matter? Can't you take a joke?! It was a joke! I mean, it was an accident! I didn't do it on purpose! Hey! No! Not the rain barrel! It's no fun to play games with a poor sport.

I think this is the one and only place I’ve ever even heard of a rain barrel.

We had a rain cistern inside the house to collect rain for Mom’s plants—which apparently would be technically illegal in Colorado.

Wouldn’t he drown if he went in head first? There’s not a lot of room to flip around.
