I love Fahrenheit 451. That and the Illustrated Man, another Ray Bradbury book. Definitely order them or pick them up on the library if you want a good read.

According to Faber, TV has the potential to have depth of its own. In F451 it never does. IRL there is a ton of brainless programming, but there are shows with real depth, commentary on the world, etc. People can bond over shows, too. And people make their livelihood off it. News and weather is also important, but no one relies on TV for that anymore anyway. However if you watch nonstop compulsively and don’t think about what you watch, like Rat, that is a problem. There are still many ways real life is similar to the world of F451, though.
