I remember having to adjust the vertical hold all the time.

I remember sitting in front of the TV on the floor when the main tube just shattered. I also remember going to the store where they had a tube tester and watching my dad test tubes until he found the bad one to replace so we could go home and watch tv again. Not that main one that shattered; that called for a new TV.
