Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for February 20, 1992
Transcript:
Hobbes: This snowman doesn't look especially avant-garde. Calvin: Actually it's very avant-garde. This is my new art movement, "neo-regionalism." I'm appealing to popular nostalgia for the simple values of rural america 50 years ago. I figure the public will eat this up and I'll make a fortune. Hobbes: So how is this avant-garde? Calvin: It's secretly ironic.
