"People can drink water from a fountain for free, but they pay money to get the same water in a bottle they have to throw away!" "I got about two liters of tap water in half-filled paper cups. Paid $80 for it." "Marathon entry fees don't count!" "Kind of puts it into perspective, doesn't it?" "If by 'putting it into' you mean 'blowing it out of.'"

I use my own bottles for water, but would buy one before using a nasty fountain. Even pre-covid I thought of them only as germ havens. As a teacher though I’ve seen how many kids put their mouth directly on the spigot. Would not be surprised if some adults did too. Yech!

I really like the newer drinking fountains that have a place specifically for filling bottles. Really hard for someone to get their mouth on that (although I’m sure some have tried.)
