Actually, dogs don’t do so well if you take meat from their diet. Better than cats, but they’re not herbivores.

Cats can’t be vegetarians at all — they’re obligate carnivores. Without meat, they’ll die.

Mom really needs to read up on the nutritional needs of cats. They need meat because they can’t metabolize protein from non-meat sources.
