Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for December 22, 1993
Transcript:
Calvin: What if there is no Santa Claus? You know, a lot of this Santa stuff is hard to believe. The flying reindeer, going around the world in one night, the whole chimney bit...what if it's all some cruel hoax and I'm being good for nothing? Hobbes: You've always been good for nothing! Calvin: If he exists, Santa will forgive this one.

Santa is the embodiment of the spirit of Christmas. It might be the parents doing the labor, but the gifts do come from the spirit of Christmas. I say that makes Santa perfectly real!
