    My little brother had a butterfly in a jar… I wanted to let it go but it ended up dying before I made the decision to say “screw it” to whatever my immediate family would have thought about it.

    They could put a rainbow in a zoo. They just need something to produce light and some mist which you could get from a special hose nozzle. Hobbes is wrong, people are much more interested in capturing living things, sadly…

    I wonder what kind of butterfly it was Calvin caught? Of course being a daily strip, Watterson could only draw it solid black, but I’m betting it was a fairly common specimen like the Red Admiral or Painted Lady butterfly (looks too small to be a Swallowtail or Monarch.)
