Wonder what he’d play if it was denominational?

Bert the Enforcer? In a “nondenominational” school Christmas [not Winter or Solstice Holiday?] play? Am I confused, or is Nerwin? Of course, we both could be….

Nerwin hardly looks the enforcer type. Better get Eastwood.

It is the story of a lonely enforcer, whose job is to club individuals who have the audacity to refer to the dec 25 holiday as ‘christmas’. he stalks the streets preying upon salvation army volunteers and santas ringing bells for ‘christmas’ donations then one night he is visited by a holiday ghost who……

Maybe Bert’s the bad guy, and his role is to go around forcing people to say “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays” because he can’t stand to see everyone included in the holiday spirit. Then the Supreme Spirit (whose many names include God, Nature, and Conscience) convinces Bert to reform by showing him that other people matter too, and that they don’t all have to be just like Bert to be good people.

Why don’t we ever see a Rankin/Bass special like that?

Well now, if Bert is the Enforcer, what role gets played by Ernie? Or, Big Bird, or Oscar the Grouch? Hmm….
