Good to have a name for it – I’ve been playing a brapper since high school!

Hey, I have one of those, only it’s plastic and valveless. It was originally sold for use at San Francisco 49ers games. “Brapper” is exactly the word for it.

Broomie, however, is old enough to remember P.D.Q. Bach’s “windbreaker” and “sewerflute”, so this use of the trumpet can’t be a total surprise.

Oh, yes: does this instrument play brapp music? ;)

I took lessons on the brapper for three years. Finally my music teacher told me if I wanted to exercise my lips to get a girlfriend. Drat, I thought I was the next Louie Armstrong.

the only instrument i had any talent to play was a triangle, and i wasn’t even good at that.

    Johanan Rakkav:

I can remember watching the 49ers play back in the old days at Kezar stadium.

yep i am older than dirt

    It’s a Brapper’s Delight!

He can play with Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brapps.

bald, pretty soon you’ll be watching them in Santa Clara. (If they try to make a deal with Los Angeles, expect another lawsuit from Al Davis; it’s the one suit SF will be hoping Al wins…)

Or, as P.D.Q. Bach did, a “windbreaker” (see above). :)

Factoid For The Day: The British call the familiar jacket a “windstopper”, and rumor has it that they find the American name “windbreaker” hilarious.

I’m not a horn player, but I can brapp with the best of ‘em, especially after dinner.

the only way i can think of for this to be more fun is if Broomie would have “gift brapped” it.
