Scoot over - I’m having a tough week too!
Where’s Randy going to hide?
Sorry to hear that, ejcapulet. Hope that things get better for you. It’ll be real crowded in that cabinet with Mr. Hurley….
I noticed that cabinet has a lock on it.
All the better to eavesdrop on Jack, Janet, and Chrissy.

Hey, he’s a basset after all!
But…but…but…It’s Thanksgiving! You’re supposed to eat until it hurts, or your host and hostess will think that you didn’t like it!
Hurley! Where’s that report for me to present to the board??? You’ve had a month to work on it and I want to see it now!
Mr Hurley has half soles and heels with cleats. Back in the day, we did that to make our shoes last longer. Does that mean anything to anybody today?
I’m wondering if Mr. Hurley’s problem is located outside the cabinet or inside it?
Complications arise in any pilgrim basset community. Being dogs, all bassets are prone to gluttony. When the whole community sentences itself to the stocks for being a glutton, who is left to release everyone at the end of their sentence?
Hello all….
Yep…. it’s getting to look a lot like Thanksgiving around here…
And StelBel’s poster….. in the Nov 26th 2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”
reminds us of why we should be glad we live in modern times.
Sure, it can seem romantic, to live a simple life, in what looks like the tumult-free peace of bygone days…
but that peace and simplicity came at a price.
Freedom is a relative concept…. in Pilgrim America, you were free to do exactly what you were told…. and just what everyone else did.
An extra kibble drumstick or a second helping of … whatever they really ate…. minced kibble pie… kibblecorn pudding….
And you’d find yourself on display in the town square, or in front of the church…..
Hey, once again… a famous basset painting was copied by a human.
Just see how silly it looks….

As if that scrawny creature could be a glutton….
just compare him to that sweet, chunky basset hound.
And those legs! Those long skinny legs.
He doesn’t even fit in the stocks….
Well, of course not…. they were made for a basset!
Pssst…. Stel…. oh… never mind….
The evil cat put Pilgrim Basset in those stocks. The evil cat said it was a publicity picture. That evil cat lied, again.
I love Nordog Barkwell paintings.
I would have thought he was trying to make himself scarce and get a little shut-eye.
That’s too cruel for the crime.
Gosh, Stel, That sure is a scary movie poster! Oh wait. That was a slice of life way back when.
Gluttony was finally approved when the supermarket ads showed up on early television. Turduckhen anyone?
Great art work!
