The creator of this comic has said that every holiday that Doug goes through each year is the first time he has experienced that holiday.
Doug will never reach his first birthday. He will always be the age he is as long as this comic runs.
Sophie is a few months older than Doug, but I’m not sure how old that makes her as she is herself a puppy and will always be a puppy… and I am not sure exactly what age the cartoonist has decided that Doug is and will stay.
