Or when you won’t give your humans the ball to throw it like my dog. He likes to tease you with it but not let you actually have it.

My Hamish does that with many of his toys. But he loves to plyt toss with me.

My older English Cocker Spaniel would look at the ball and think, “What the heck is THAT.”
