nothing shady about anything. most retail outlets don’t deal with broken items other than to take them back and exchange them. If they DO pretend that you can bring the item back to them to get it fixed, what they actually do is take it from you then ship it to the people that made it to fix and charge you extra for the service.
We bought some time ago a riding lawn from a certain department store. I actually seen took two men to unload it. I did not know better. I should have canceled, returned the mower and got our money back. The riding lawn mower did not work right. My dad fixed it then sold it to someone else.

It’s one of those fly-by-night scams. When they go back to the mall to argue, they will find a vacant lot with tumble weeds a-rollin’ around.
