    Was BB Eyes flattened by his own blackmarket tires, er, cartons of DVDs? Please, no. Let’s have a chase. It’s more sporting when Dick shoots a running felon.

    Thank goodness Tracy has rescued Honeymoon! Sushi? Well, de gustibus…, but not my choice. Next step: flush out B-B Eyes and bring him to justice, one way or another!

    Good Morning Everyone.

    In Monday’s last panel, I liked how the word crash was drawn. It reminded me of the words that filled the screen in the 1960’s Batman TV show on ABC during fight scenes.

    I agree with Curlycue about Honeymoon’s cartoon balloon.You can sense her dozing off while speaking to Tracy.by how the balloon was drawn.

    I don’t think this story will wrap up soon.

    We have to find BB Eyes.

    Kudos on the lettering! From Tracy’s shout of “Hands up” to Honeymoon’s dreamy sushi request, I’ve never seen lettering contribute more to the ‘soundtrack’ of a strip!Now let’s find BB Eyes!

    I just wish the light bar on the patrol car wasn’t colored all red. For that matter, I wish the patrol car wasn’t brown.

    Ah, sushi… good for what ails ya! BTW, I’m just loving the composition of this strip. I agree with everyone here… this is a MAJOR improvement!

    @Ray and Bill

    I totally agree with you both 100%. I remain patient and optimistic, and Mr. Curtis does a darn fine job with what he does have to work with, so I look forward to that inevitable day when the Syndicate gives him a freer hand to determine appropriate story lengths. :D

    Bad color on the dailies not-with-standing, this strip just keeps getting better and better. TMS must trust them by now … why not leave it to Joe and Mike to determine how long the adventures should be.

    It looked to me yesterday that BB Eyes was right in front of the grille. He was clearly in the upper left of the last panel. I can’t imagine him leaving the party so soon! The cake hasn’t been lit yet!

    Since the discussion about story length is still “on the table” – The LENGTH of the story really isn’t the issue, it’s what happens DURING the story. Some of Chester Gould’s best remembered stories ran for as long as 3 months or more, but they were never boring because something was always happening. A new clue, an unexpected quirk of nature (look at what he did with snow storms, for example), a surprising development during the famous chases – always something to keep the interest high. He even used strips with no dialogue and long sequences with explanation boxes to show what was happening. From what I have been able to gather, the main compaint about Mr. Locher’s later years was that the stories didn’t MOVE – but IMO if the action is there, readers will enjoy the ride, if it takes 2 or 3 months. And don’t forget, although the main idea is a daily strip in the paper, if these are ever to be gathered in book form, a collection of comic strips in a book “reads” pretty fast, anyway.

    Jr. grew up eating a bowl of chili at the local diner with Tracy – at least that’s how it was depicted in the movie – but even in the strip itself, he enjoyed some candy once in a while and Tracy himself could be seen munching an apple while pondering the current case at HQ. So where did Jr’s daughter come to think of sushi as a comfort food, to be eaten right after your life has just been saved??

    Another Dick Tracy short. I would think a girl who almostgot suffocated would not be thinking about eatng sushi —she’d be nauseous. What happened to Moon Maid’s powerto blow up the truck door? She didn’t inherit it?
