    zapboy is probably right - they are quite common. The context here, of course, is aging, but people with a range of conditions have to rely on colostomy bags. Soldiers who have suffered “life -altering injuries”, as they call them, are often faced with this as just another part of their challenge.Another way to look at it , though, is that it’s a relatively small inconvenience, at least when you consider the increased mobility, etc. provided.
