Though I find “Little Abner” amusing, I’ve never liked the way Southern people were pictured as so dumb in it. Al Capp admitted the closest he ever came to the South was a bus he was on broke down in Nashville, Tennesse. Before the Civil War the South was considered a great place of culture. I’m proud to be a Southerner. However, I would be willing to put up with my stereotypes if every one else would.
