Yeah, laugh it up. At the end of the day marriage has benefits only for the man. Women are taught from birth that their single most important purpose in life is to get married and have babies, and they will of their own accord cook, clean, travel with the man to wherever he wants to go, and understand without anyone telling them to that the kids are their responsibility. If the man does any of these things, the wife will perceive him as only ‘helping,’ not that they’re also his job. If women didn’t act on what was ingrained in them since birth, they might realize they’re not getting anything out of it, but in reality they only realize it after they’ve been married for 30 years and at that point divorce leaves them broke because they never focused on their own well-being but that of their children and husband.

Not that we’re bitter or anything, right?

@tegm—woman here, married for over 11 years now. I know I seriously lucked out in the husband department, but trust me, it doesn’t have to be like that. My husband doesn’t want kids (and neither do I). He’s putting me through graduate school. He fixes meals, does laundry and dishes, and is fun and easy to be with. I don’t know what he sees in me, but getting married to him was the best decision I ever made.
