TTM, my cat was considered overweight at 12 pounds. It varies by breed. That said, I never saw Bucky as fat, just potbellied.

Perhaps I would be more successful if I approached the problem as “portion dominance”.

Weight Watchers for cats? Wouldn’t that be the human weighing the cat?Bucky’s idea of dominance over food would be to eat everything in sight. Wonder if Rob can get him running his legs off instead of his mouth?

My cat is at his proper weight if it’s between 14.5 and 15.5 pounds. At 18 pounds, he was distinctly overweight. Of course, he’s part Main Coon, which makes a difference. My sister’s cat is just about right at 11 pounds, but she’s a much smaller cat.

Well, if the Buckster gets any bigger, he just might turn into a black-and-white Garfield (weight-wise, at least) …
