I love how people act like age doesn’t matter so long as it’s the woman who’s significantly younger than the guy. You’d never see a couple in this comic (or any other) where the woman is dating a much younger man and everyone acts like it’s no big deal.

The fact that she’s half my age doesn’t mean she’s too young for me, but it probably means I’M too old for HER.

tegm, I suspect you’re wanting to hold back the tide, like King Canute. That “older man/younger woman” is less comment-worthy than “older woman/younger man” is undeniable, but I suspect it’s a cultural reinforcement of a biological predisposition.

What’s unusual about the Crunchy/Capt. Ruiz relationship is that she outranks him. A woman with power/status is statistically likely to end up involved with a man with even MORE power/status. Exceptions are readily at hand, of course, but women are more likely to “marry upwards” than men. Again, I suspect it’s a cultural reinforcement of a biological predisposition.

Thanks" Baslim the Beggar". I’m glad you enjoy my work. I am inspired by my readers’ comments- even when they’re harsh.
