One of our stores charges for providing bags; they encourage you to use your own. We’ve seen all sorts of different bags getting used. When you see what the plastic bags do to the environment especially in “third world” type counties you can see why every little bit helps.
That is so true! So many times I buy one item, or something that doesn’t need/fit in a bag, and the cashier will put it into a bag. They don’t even ask, “plastic or paper,” anymore–they just shove it in a plastic bag.
I’ve made them take it out of the plastic bag because I’d already told them once (and they obviously weren’t listening) I didn’t want it.
You’d better watch out for Al Gore. He’s trying to get his hands deeper and deeper into our pockets through his global warming scam. The damage control they’re trying to do since the e-mails expose is most amusing, but it still looks like our prez is going to ladle out more of our tax and future debt dollars to them.
Mango Eater - Ja! Please see http://www.junkscience.com/ Lots of great, true science and news on the greenhouse and Gore-Bull warming / Climate change lies. Again, if Gore truly believed his own lies, he WOULDN’T LIVE IN AN ESTATE THAT CONSUMES 10 TIMES MORE ENERGY RESOURCES THAN THE AVERAGE AMERICAN HOUSEHOLD!! Trying to scare the world into putting enviro-terrorists in charge.
Been using canvas bags for about 15 years now. It’s a great way to make sure I don’t fill up a shopping cart when all I want is a few items. Just use the bag as a holder. Once it’s full, you automatically stop. It also saves you having to make the choice of killing a tree or a dinosaur.

Those shopping bags were made by Cheech and Chong.

Ed Begley Jr. would punch your lights out for asking that.

I think the correct question would have been “Do you need a bag for that?”
Yukoner about 15 years ago
I wonder what Al Gore would say about this.

You don’t have to care about what Al Gore thinks to be interested in the message and the science for and/or against it.

I literally had this happen! I am wondering if “plastic” cannot be made from hemp oil as well?

Four bags? If you need that many bags to carry it, you’re pro’ly looking at a felony.
