The Born Loser by Art and Chip Sansom for July 24, 2011
Transcript:
The Born Loser by Art & Chip Sansom Gladys: Another baseball game? Gladys: You are completely preoccupied with all things baseball - it's not healthy! Gladys: If you're not at a game, you're watching one on TV, or reading about one in the paper or a book! Gladys: You probably know Roberto Clemente's lifetime batting average by heart... Gladys: But I'll bet you can't remember the date when we were married! Brutus: Of course I can - it was May 15, 1981! Gladys: I can't believe it - that's right! Brutus: How could I forget - that was the day Len Barker pitched his perfect game!

Really? Thought I had been reading this strip before then. Don’t remember a wedding. When did the strip start?

It’s funny how some dates are remembered. I received my first (of many) speeding tickets on May 15, 1981.

Lenny Barker. Maaaaan. I thought only Indians Fans remembered Lenny Barker. Roberto Clemente I can understand, the man was poetry but a Lenny Barker reference. Restores my faith in Baseball.
