Had a friend who sported a “soul patch” for thirty years and then decided to grow a Van Dyke and get an earring. Liked the soul patch better.

To me, soul patches never look good even on humans. They look inadequate, like you mean to grow more.

I thought the comment yesterday was a little TOO random. Wonder where this is going. My ability to grow facial hair is legendary, but it just looks WRONG on a non-mammal!

Reminds me of the joke about the woman who had a knob installed in the back of her neck for facelifts. She turned the knob so much over the years that she got a soul patch.

Oh Verne! We could dress you in an Armani shell, Oakley sunglasses, Frye loafers, and sit you in a Porsche, but you’d just be an overdressed nerd in an overengineered car. * I tried growing a mustache/soul patch once, but it made me look like pure evil: both young and old ladies were crossing the street when they saw me; so it had to go.
