Rat: Hey... what the $*@@!'s this? Zebra: A wall to keep the crocs out... and that's a security gate I had this man install. It can only be opened by entering the top-secret security password. Rat: So is it '1-2-3-4,' 'password,' or your birthday? Zebra: We should change the top-secret security code.

Probably shouldn’t take passcode suggestions from President Skroob.

Sorry to repeat; this is for @A.Ficionado: No, I’m in NY, but I’ve been in Xinjiang twice and picked this Avatar to draw attention to the plight of the Uyghurs as they’re not getting the sympathy that the Tibetans (further south) are getting, probably because they’re Muslims and the Chinese are playing the terorist card to keep them down (let me know if you’ve read this, Did you think that GoComics is read in China?

One would have thought that Zebra was smart enough to come up with a better password, but then it doesn’t take much to fool the crocs. Is this a sad comment on today’s society, that people have to live in gated communities to feel safe? Looks like Stephan isn’t the only one in prison.

Pig’s password is usually “1”.
Proginoskes over 13 years ago
Up until 1977, the code to unlock the US’s nuclear missiles was 00000000. Eight-digit security!

Of course, Pig doesn’t have to worry about identity theft, cos anybody who stole his identity would immediately give it back.

And yeah, Proginoskes, I loved that.
You mean they changed it, finally? To what? 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 – 8?

I’d put the blame for the lame password on the crack security-gate installer standing next to Zeeba Neighba. Since it’s just new, Zeeba hasn’t had time yet to change the installation default code. But I’m sure he’s smart enough to set one good enough to deter the crocs.

:O I had no idea… how the HLL did we survive the 70s? Although, I guess a string of zeroes would be the LAST code someone would try if they didn’t know what it was…

I certainly hope so.

I lost it when the “smartest man in the world” in the movie Watchmen had as his password his hobby name. With a book on his desk with the password as part of the title.

The Internet, obviously.

Apparently the guy installed the gate using nothing but a hammer (the only tool in his tool belt).

my password is not JUST my birthday!
hariseldon59 over 13 years ago
Considering that there’s nothing but grass under that gate, a real croc could probably dig his way into Zebras yard in no time. Fortunately Larry and his friends aren’t that smart.

Zebra may as well live in the f*$#@&g zoo.
Sherlock Watson over 13 years ago
Since he wants to keep the crocs out, his password should be “Zebra”; remember how Larry lost on Jeopardy?

An ideal password is the last 7 digits of pi. (the mathematical expression).
hossblacksilver over 13 years ago
Makes me think of a recent XCKD where they talked about how we’ve been conditioned to use passwords that are hard to remember, but easy for computers to guess.

Art – how time flies…. LOL. Actually I remembered the story but didn’t remember ever hearing that the codes had been changed.
<.br>Shoulda read Proginoskes’ post more carefully.
Of course they wouldn’t have TOLD the story, I suppose, if it were still all zeroes.
SAC thought at the time that having a passcode would have slowed down the President’s reaction in time of crisis….. well, duh!
Meanwhile — don’t be hard on Fanolio. Maybe he knows something important.
If pi is finite, I’d better have a “*pi*ece” of blueberry soon.
Hey I think I just discovered a new etymology!
SusanSunshine Premium Member over 13 years ago
well, I just discovered how to wreck some HTML. LOL
Fan o’ Lio. over 13 years ago
Actually 355/113 is a highly accurate approximation of pi.

in the military most locks and safes where still set on what the factory had set. if it was changed birthdays or wifes measurments where most used.

Bush had, as his nuke launch code, 1-2-3-4. But in his defense, he did not know they were sequential.
Jafder over 13 years ago
Not everything you read on the internet is true. 00000000 was never the code for the US nuclear missile arsenal.
