“Wrong! Your ears you keep, and I’ll tell you why. So that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish, every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out: “Dear God, what is that thing?” will echo in your perfect ears. That is what “to the pain” means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery, forever. " Westley, The Princess Bride
But I’ve got news for Calvin and Dad. Acting can actually affect you. I’ve heard that Hugh Laurie, the actor who plays House, from limping so long as that character, has actually developed a limp. (Or so early reports say. . . . OTOH, he’s stayed another two years plus since then.)
This is Calvin’s interpretation of wearing a white tie. His father should get out his camera and photograph Calvin’s expressions and get-ups for the amusement of the judge if they ever decide to disown him…..
Some of us like to do this at Halloween. It started with the communities that grew up around Pibgorn, and another that settled at the Big Top. (Avatars also tend to change to match.)

Assuming that his face still looks that way when Halloween comes.

Not quite – then he’d have a paper bag over his head with “Aints” written on it.
