This is another stretch at a “Peanuts” reference. In peanuts, Snoopy is sometimes a WWII flying ace, so basically in the military. Guard Duck has said that he is in the military, and he is, well, Guard Duck. In both strips, sometimes these “military” strips have both Snoopy and Guard Duck lonely and longing for love. However, this theory is so complicated that I am starting to wonder if Pastis did this on purpose or not?.
