Good morning, Vagabonds. I have 26 VHS tapes left to copy to DVD, but add 3 VHS tapes that, when copied to DVD, would not finalize – I guess I have to re-do them. Does anyone know why they couldn’t finalize.
On another note: I have a new Turkish penpal on Facebook whose English is fair. I just introduced him to GoComics – my 1st convert – to my knowledge, I don’t think anyone I know in “the outside world” reads GoComics. My Turkish friend, a young man named’ “Omer” and he hopes to improve his English nuance by reading GoComics – Arye @4:27 AM on the East coast..
@Ayre….we had that problem once or twice on our DVD recorder. Very frustrating when you think you’ve recorded something from TV and then it won’t finalize. At least you can re-copy the VHS’s again.
As far as your friend Omer goes, we will welcome him to the Village!
@Montna Lady, thanks for welcoming Omer. I’ve told him the best hours to log on to GoComics to make sure he can see some of the comments and still be able to communicate with others. I believe that would be about 7 or 8 AM Eastern Daylight time. Right now he has a difficult Ramadan schedule with fasting and fast-breaking and I hope he knows how to initially log on. This year I think ALL my Turkish friends are fasting. In the ‘70s I don’t think any of my then-young friends fasted; nor did young women wear scarves – now so many do.
As far as taping from TV or camcorder, I first copy to VHS so I may edit as once I copy to DVD it’s non-erasible.

Some of the VHS tapes are “copy protected”. When I converted my tapes to DVD’s, there were about 2 dozen of them that couldn’t be copied at all.

@JanCinVV I have the same problem with about 20 VHS tapes. I’m hoping to find those movies on Amazon with a discounted sale price.
