Poncho: So...what kind of fish are you? Fish: I have no idea. I was only born a few days ago, and the only thing I've seen so far is the inside of a tank filled with a couple of hundred other identical-looking fish. Fish: Though I'm already feeling, with dawning certainty, that my apparently unspectacular spin on the roulette-wheel of life has lined me up for steady allotments of distress and banality for the duration of my brief cycle back to the void. Poncho: You're funny. I'm gonna call you "fish".

Reading that makes me feel kind of sad and sorry for the fish. It’s even worse if you have the intelligence to realize what your situation is, and there is nothing you can do to change it.

Nobody likes a ‘smart-tailfin’, Fish…

The irony is that fish, as intelligent and needing of stimulation as he is, in that tiny prison of a bowl, will be thankful for its security after retuning from the hair-er I mean scale-raising, sometimes oxygen-depriving, adventures Poncho forces upon him.

Never fear little fish! With Poncho, your life will not be banal and according to one other comic I saw the other day, you won’t go back to the void, but you will become a goldfish cracker!!!!!

He could have said it with fewer words by simply quoting Douglas Adams: “Oh no, not again” (granted that was a potted petunia, and not a fish, but the sentiment applies.

fritzoid, is the fish dead, already?
fritzoid Premium Member about 13 years ago
It was a little joke, rincon (very little). On Friday, Fish was given as a gift from Chazz to Poncho, i.e. Fish was “gifted.”
